Choosing a favourite is hard. I love all of them a lot, the whole bunch of people. They worked perfectly as a team and they counterfeit everyones shortcoming in amazingly steadfast yet convenient kind of way. I just love everyone.
Choosing a favourite in Naruto reminds me of my bestfriend (Almarhumah Norhidayah Adam) who has just past away a few weeks ago due to liver failure. She loved Gaara, the guy who embodied hatred his whole life and change after knowing he was not alone and there are paths to choose on how to live your life. He changed, because the hatred he cultivated is not worthy, he realize that other unfortunate people can live a peaceful and lively life. Its about a path you choose to live in.
So,there are a few of my favourite characters to be highlighted here due to some values that makes them shine more than others. This lists will includes villain ok, so I'm not being bias here
1. Uchiha Itachi
My number one is the only Konoha rogue ninja that joined Akatsuki. Yaaa...a villain. I am not that familiar with Uchiha Itachi. His character only pop in once in Naruto and the rest is in Shippuden. All I know that he killed everyone in his clan but spare Sasuke, his brother. In the backstory, it is shown how brilliant he is (graduated early, promoted to chuunin at young age, the youngest Anbu ever recruited, promoted as a captain at the age of 14) and he shares a lot of value with his bestfriend, Shisui. He despise the idea of the Uchiha is the strongest and need to have the leadership post in Konoha. He loves the peace and hate tha hatred spreading in his clan. He uphold the plan proposed by Shisui even he doubt himself to be able to do it. He cast the best genjutsu to his girlfriend, to convey his feeling and killed her first, while dying she even say thank you for loving her. Itachi manage to upgrade the Sharingan given by Shisui and passed them to Sasuke later (thus the Rinnegan). Even in the form of Edo Tensei, he is the first one to break the jutsu and pursue its caster. He let Sasuke help him and later revealed that he is proud to be a Konoha shinobi, and he loves his brother so much. He sacrifice a lot in his life so that others can nurture a new world of Uchiha later. This character does not appear much in the anime but the impact he left to the storyline, simply amazing.
2. Nara Shikamaru
No one hates the Nara, trust me. They are the brains of Konohagakure, given Shikaku, Shikamaru or Shikadai. Shikamaru is a very interesting character, earlier in Naruto he feels that he is at the same level with Naruto but he is way better. He has the brain but lack in motivation. At the first assignment given as a chuunin, he failed miserably and causing 2 of his team members critically injured. He was devastated but his father did console and advice him (not to forget his GF as well). The most brilliant fight you'll witnessed is when he defeated Hidan single-handedly, to avenged his bestfriend and teacher, Asuma. His team of Ino-Shika-Cho was confronting both Hidan and Kakuzu but reinforcement that brought Kakashi's team, let them strategize in a way that seperate the villain. The other brilliant moment of Shikamaru is during the 4th Shinobi War where he takes over his dad position as a playmaker after the HQ bombarded with bijuu dama. He manage to set aside the sadness of losing his dad and continue his legacy. Shikamaru is the first rookie to be promoted as chuunin (in his class), the proctor of stage 1 chuunin exam, working under the Rokdaime Hokage office, the advisor to the Shinobi Alliance, the bridge that linked family with Tsunagakure, the advisor to Nanadaime Hokage and maintain the prestige of Nara clan as the brain of Konoha.
3. Jiraiya
I personally does not admire this character but he contribute so much of his life to Konoha. This carefree, hentai loving grandpa used his time travelling all over the places to collect intel on the latest shinobi's pandemic. He is great at teaching thus he nurture a lot shinobis. He loves writing but the only meaningful and best writing was only read by a few people. He trained vigorously to obtained the Sage power but he still needs help to cast it. The only value that no one can surpass is the way he handle problems that occur in his life. He is a realistic gentleman, true to his intention and will pursue what he think is right (even if everyone oppose). The reason he is a great teacher is because he let the student to discover and unlocked their power by practising, so at the end they can own the power themself. He belief in his student, and he belief everyone will somehow manage to develop into a better version of themselves. He has the power to steer a powerful individual to a good cause. He is a truly respectable gentleman.
4. Namikaze Minato
Yondaime Hokage, the disciple of Jiraiya and the father to Nanadaime Hokage. He get the least scene overall in Naruto and Shippuden but I admire this character. He is a soft spoken and loving character. He does not resembles someone powerful but he is. He enhanced the Flying Raijin developed by Nidaime Hokage and become the fastest shinobi ever. He is the only shinobi who master the sealing jutsu possessed by Uzumaki clan and perform it succesfully to seal Kurama in Naruto. He even manage to instill his chakra and Kushina's into the sealing form in Naruto. His bright personality is the only thing that encourage Naruto to follow and never let him fall into the darkness despite living alone. He is so proud to see how his son had develop into a fine young man who is dependable, passionate, strong and reliable despite being a failure teacher to guide his team (Kakashi, Obito and Rin).
5. Uchiha Obito
Actually, I want to write Hatake Kakashi but he's too mainstream (no one hates Kakashi, trust me). Uchiha Obito is admirable character. I love how Obito change from one personality to others. As Tobi, he is a loud new character with a dumb minded intellectual. As Madara he is a calm, collected yet provocating person. As Obito, he is powerful, nonchalant and persuasive. But we all know that was all an act. The real Obito is the one who cannot accept the fact that his love choose to die in the hands of his bestfriend. Due to witnessing the tragedy, his sharingan evolved into Kamui. He is still the crybaby who won't accept the fact but clinging on the memories of it. His ability to disguise in different personality amazed me and somehow makes me sad because we know he is hiding everything inside, alone. His loneliness makes him vulnerable to be manipulated and Madara is taking advantage of that. Thankfully, he was saved by the loud Naruto and peacefully leaving everyone by helping them win the war. How adorable.
Well, i think five is more than enough.
This is the only thing i can think of writing now. I have turned this blog into Naruto reacting site...hahaha
